About couple of months ago, I was telling a friend that I was working in Pure Savage and told him the bands that were on the bill. When I mentioned “The Dead Presidents” he told me the bassist was a mate of his. I hadn’t heard of them and thought nothing more.
On the night we did the sound check and I was drawn in right from the start. The bassist looked like Hendrix’ love child and he well and truly rocked the crowd. I was smiling from start to finish and the funk rock fusion was incredible! This band oozed the rock’n'roll spirit!
I kept in touch with the singer and recently found out that they were down to the last 50 in a competition (from 6000) to have their tune put on a CD called “The Hendrix Revolution”. Their song is on a myspace page for 48 hours and requires a few comments and as many plays as possible to help their cause along!
When the lead singer, Matthew Wilson, sent me the link it took me about 2 minutes to realise one thing! The page where their song was being featured was the official Jimi Hendrix myspace page!
This is definitely the real deal – their song has the potential to reach thousands of people in a very short space of time – they wont be disappointed. Other artists on the CD will include legends like Santana and Lenny Kravitz!
