4 piece pop punk band Hearts Under fire have been getting a lot of well deserved attention over the past few months. They are competing in a competition that Redbull has put together (which seems to be lasting forever) The Redbull Bedroom Jam. The winner gets a massive studio package and the support slot with our friends, Kids In Glass Houses. Hearts Under Fire are at a stage in the comp that could really do with your votes. I caught up with them for a wee chat :]
How did you get involved with the Redbull Bedroom Jam event?
We were advised to enter our video, which obviously we did… we didn’t know much about the competition at the time and didn’t promote it very much. We ended up being picked as a wild card by the judges of the competition.
You’ve obviously already got a great following to get this far in the event, what do you think are the bands strong features?
One of our strongest features is that we all work so hard & work together as a unit, every HUF member is just as vital as the other & whether you like our music or not, no one can deny how hard we’ve worked when it comes to the band. When it comes to shows, we put in everything we’ve got to our set & always deliver a raw, passionate & most importantly honest performance. HUF is not about the image, how cool or uncool we are, it’s purely about us loving what we do & sharing our music with anyone who will listen.
Musically or otherwise, what influences Hearts Under Fire?
We all have completely different individual influences but we cross over with some bands. we all grew up on Alkaline Trio which heavily influenced us when we first formed.. I think now we just take all our individual influences and put them together.

You have an EP released, are you guys almost ready for an album?
…that would be telling
If you could tour with any band who would it be with? You’re not allowed to say Kids In Glass Houses!
haha! Probably, Alkaline Trio or Against Me!
I was away with KIGH and General Fiasco on tour and KIGH played a lot of Lady Gaga before going on stage, what music gets Heart Under Fire psyched before a gig?
Ooooh thats a tricky one.. but, I guess you could never go wrong with a bit of Michael Jackson!
