I keep seeing this image going around Facebook and Twitter and it’s incredibly hard to watch people get something so wrong. The picture shows Heineken promotional flags inside a bar in Mongolia. The owners of the bar have let a dog fighting event take place inside the bar, which is disgusting in my opinion but perhaps a part of Mongolian culture that I don’t get.
That aside, a lot of the public have decided to attack Heineken for supposedly supporting this. Is it not pretty obvious that Heineken, a huge worldwide name, don’t and never would support such an event? Despite Heineken releasing a statement in April clearing their name, people are STILL going nuts over this. It seems the internet is very quick to jump on a bandwagon before checking things out. Heineken are getting bombarded with complaints from people that just have no idea what they are doing or saying.
When you see these thoughtless photos going around Facebook that try to blame people or companies for awful things or pretend that each like or share will go to charities, please take a step back and think about what you’re about to like and/or share… especially if you really feel the need to send abusive or accusatory remarks to a person or company. You have a lot more power than you might think.

Below is a letter from the venue owner confirming HEINEKEN had no involvement in the dog fighting activity.
