It Looks Like Skillens of Castlewellan Win Their Own Competition – MASSIVE FAIL

I’m told this has gone viral, so maybe you have already seen it, but for us it’s new.

Skillens jewellers in Castlewellan ran a competition on their Facebook to win a very glamorous diamond ring! It was the standard “Like & Share” type of competition and it got 9,000 entries. Not bad at all!

They announced the winner and posted a photo of the winner and her husband. The winner was replying to comments on Facebook when something strange happened, she thanked people using the page “Skillens” It was evident from this that she was an admin on the Skillens Facebook page and may have picked herself as the winner of the nice new diamond ring!

The Facebook has been deleted.

@loafroaster. I doubt anyone believes that… What company is going to give a competition winner Admin rights to their FB page? Especially one you would imagine doesn’t know how to use the internet. There are a million alternatives the could have resorted to. Mainly stop people from posting full stop for a couple of days. But no, they supposedly rang up the competition winner and asked her did she want to be admin of their page… To which she delightfully answered, yes… FFS. Who believes that?

I seriously doubt the story about giving admin rights to a random page visitor. It looks like it’s a scam and they got caught out. I’m sure they are far from the only page on Facebook pulling this crap. Firms will do anything for likes and shares.
