What happened in Haiti needs no detail or description. We are all very aware of what happened and the state in has left their country. The world is coming together to help Haiti and has seen fundraisers take place in every corner of the globe and from every walk of life. The rich are giving money and the not so rich and creating money. Money is what can make a difference to the people of Haiti and Northern Ireland is going to help.

There are numerous events/fundraisers going on up and down the country, way too many to mention them all and i’m sure we don’t know of even half of them. If you check out the link below they can give you information on the ones we are aware of. If you have your own event, you should post in on the very active Belfast4Haiti Facebook group!

Panic Dots approached the Belfast 4 Haiti campaigners and offered to broadcast a podcast to help give people awareness of some events that are happening.

Please have a listen and go to an event that appeals to you. If none them find another way to contribute. Haiti needs our help.

Monarchy, a U.K. twosome whose name is both epic and cheesy. These smooth operators combine a bit of Daft Punk, Scissor Sisters and Air. This track is definitely going to be big this year and it’s really just the tip of the iceberg for these guys. Hello Monarchy.

Monarchy’s debut single comes out in February on Neon Gold, which has also produced singles for Passion Pit and Ellie Goulding. Yum yum yum.

The Alice Kona Band are releasing their first single and it’s FREE! YES FREE!

I’ve been a massive fan of these guys since their very first gig. The four piece are basically 3 of the coolest front men and the worst drummer in the country, they are far from the tightest band in the world, but perhaps that’s part of their charm. It’s really amazing to hear something recorded off these guys and it not be a total flop. These guys are awesome to watch while they play and would undoubtedly be the coolest band in Belfast, but i figured some of that would be lost in a recording. Of course its not the same and all of that coolness isn’t really captured in the single, but it makes up for it in other areas. The Alice Kona Band should be taken seriously and this first record proves it.

Tony (we all know he’s the talented one) from the band invited me to his house to record a podcast. We got him to pick ten tracks that meant something to him and the band!

The guys are obviously super busy at the minute with preparations to the Ulster Hall gig on the 18th of December. It has to be one of the highlights of the year for Northern Irish music (and is hasn’t even happened yet) To get tickets for the events click HERE.
