TV Review: The Pacific

The Pacific gets its debut broadcast in full HD on April 5th on Sky Movies Premiere. The first ten minutes boasts beautiful sets, colours, characters and a massive budget. The director wastes no time in bonding you with its lead roles and already you fear for their lives as we all know exactly where they are heading. After good-byes are said we get to see some epic war backdrops. There’s a reason why this has been hyped about being shot in HD and this is it. The style of this series is stunning and if it wasn’t for being tainted with a war theme i’d say it was beautiful, the sets are huge, the cast seems to be endless and each one seems to have their own character.
This is not for obvious action/adventure fans although there is plenty of action. The action sequences like this have not been made for TV ever, they’re huge and probably cost more than a whole series on The Bill, even these action scenes are laced with emotions from various characters. Episode one ends and i want more.. and i’m luckily enough to have another episode right here! This is my new addiction.

The PACIFIC

STARTS 5TH APRIL 2010 AT 9pm ON SKY MOVIES PREMiERE HD

Executive producers Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman are the creative team behind the Emmy-winning 2001 HBO miniseries Band of Brothers. Clearly a winning combination. They’re back with another epic war television series. The Pacific has all been filmed using HD and special attention has been given to it to give it a Hollywood theatrical feel.

I’m loving that the series will be shown on Sky Movies Premiere HD, no averts and so it will be viewed in all its glory!
